Make the March Holidays fun with these 5 activities

There's never enough time for fun.

It’s finally here – the perfect opportunity for some quality time with your children while taking a break from hectic working schedules. If you have yet to figure out what to do during the term break, here are 5 fun activities to bring you and your family closer together.

1. Get in touch with nature

A great way to bond as a family while getting in some exercise is to go for a family hike. The scenic and popular Southern Ridges Trail is a 10km trail that connects some of Singapore’s most popular parks. The highlight of the trail is the iconic Henderson Waves Bridge, which affords you a stunning view of the lush greenery set against the backdrop of the Singapore skyline.

The full trail brings you from Kent Ridge Park to Hort Park and Telok Blangah Park before ending your journey at Mount Faber Park. However, you can start your hike wherever you choose! For more trail suggestions, head to NParks’ website. They even have a list of fun and recreational activities like pony riding, fishing, and camping!

2. Let those creative juices flow

If hiking is not your thing, why not try art jamming with your kids to spark creative inspiration? Canvas art jamming can be a little mainstream, so we recommend going for a tote bag art jamming session instead. Not only will your kid have a fun time, they will also walk away with a unique, personalised tote bag that can be used every day.

Check out Art Jamming Singapore for their art jamming packages! They even have DIY Creative Home Kits so you can jam to art in the comforts of your home.

3. Add a splash of fun

Get wild and wet at Wild Wild Wet! Nothing feels better than jumping into a pool on a hot and humid day. Keep cool while exploring the 15 rides and attractions made for all ages at the park. From kid-friendly rides at the kid zone to more extreme ones like the latest free fall ride, the park is truly made for the family experience.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, the park has revised its opening hours from Monday to Sunday 12-6pm (Closed on Tuesdays). Grab your tickets early to get your desired slot!

4. Learning never stops

The working life can be merciless and time may not permit for you to continuously entertain the kids throughout the week. To keep the young ones engaged and at the same time expand their holistic education, why not send them for performing art workshops? Drama and creative play workshops can be useful in growing your child’s confidence and developing collaboration and imagination skills.

Centre Stage School of the Arts offers a range of creative play and drama camps during the holiday week for kids in different age groups, split into different age groups like 3-5s, 5-7s, and 8-12s. Head to their website to find out more about the classes they offer!

5. Just take it chill

Sometimes all we need is a break, and that for some of us means staying home and having a day to just relax and unwind. From watching movies, baking home-made goodies, travelling overseas while in Singapore to playing board games as a family, the options are endless!

Fun Quality Time

It’s possible to create your own unique holiday, even in Singapore. Be it rediscovering old places to eat, momentarily travelling out of this world with the Star Wars exhibition, or even a mural hunt around Chinatown, there’s something for everyone.

Let’s get started on the fun!
