Six Made In Singapore Skincare Brands That Will Protect You from the Blazing Sun

It’s no secret that the sun shines bright in Singapore, which is to say – it’s been INSANELY hot.

With so many skincare brand options readily available all over Singapore, it might sometimes be hard to narrow down and settle on just 1 brand that works for you. It might also be a tedious process to watch hours of customer reviews on YouTube, wondering if the brand you’ll like is fit for your skin.

This August, we’re all about #supportlocal. Here are 6 local skincare brands created and formulated for Singaporeans by Singaporeans – with sun protection.

Porcelain Skincare

The Porcelain brand started off in 2009 with a simple dream of doing things the right way. Today, the local brand is not only known for its luxury spas at Paragon but also Porcelain Skincare (its product range), which has won more than 80 awards since its inception in 2009. The brand prides itself on its rigorous R&D progress, with products having gone through multiple rounds of stringent testing before landing in the hands of their customers.

A well known brand among many, Skin Inc has won over 150 beauty awards and has been featured in publications like VOGUE, WWD, Refinery29. Founded by Singaporean Sabrina Tan, the brand has since expanded to the US, UK and all across Asia. Skin Inc believes that there is no one-size-fits-all product, and allows for customisation of a product to fit your personal skin needs. By taking a 2 – 3 minute test on the website, Skin Inc would be able to access your skin type, eventually formulating and recommending a suitable product for you.

Together with Dr Shekhar Mitra, an esteemed global innovation expert (previously holding the position of Senior Vice President Research & Development Global Prestige, Beauty and Corporate Fragrances & Flavors at Procter & Gamble), Sabrina has created data-driven innovations that looks to cater to your skin type. Most skincare products on Skin Inc’s website range between $10 – $60, with the occasional beauty tools going up to $200.

Skin Inc’s sun-protecting formulas are combined with other products so they act not just as a sunscreen but doubles up as a cc-cream or a moisturiser. This way, you won’t have to worry about getting two separate products when one works just as good. The UV protecting range includes the Pure UV Protect+ ($48) and the Serum UV Moisturiser ($72).
