The Singapore Grand Prix is cancelled (again), but if you’re feeling the need for speed, these options are great for the entire family, and we say family because…
KARTING ARENA AT JURONG
The Karting Arena has recently opened a second track in Jurong with a massive area spanning 153,000 sq ft, with a 700m-long track that comes with 11 technical turns.
Decked with a racers’ VIP lounge, private garage units, a race control room, track cameras and even a viewing gallery on the second floor, karters can also recharge and refuel at d’Arena for a respite from the intensity of the tracks.
The Jurong facility is designed with recommendations from professional race drivers. These include equipping the track with safety barriers similar to safety systems installed in Formula 1 circuits, as well as a well-lit track that is optimised for night driving.
There’s something for the kids too – a new fleet of BirelArt petroleum-powered go-karts. Karters can choose their racing experience with speeds of up to 30km/h or 50km/h for the thrill-seekers (with a valid drivers’ license). The single seater is safe for solo beginners and young drivers above nine years old, while the double seater is safe for all drivers.
Fun Karting rates start from S$25 per session for novice (minimum 9 years old and 140cm height) and S$35 per session for adults. Corporate and private bookings and competitive F1 Grand Prix packages are available as well- find out more at thekarteningarena.com.
