We can finally look forward to enjoying ourselves now that businesses and attractions are opening again. And some of these places aren’t the same as before – they’ve taken this hiatus to give themselves a serious makeover. Here are 5 reopenings to check out in 2021.
1. SuperPark (with new facilities like Archery)
This family mega-attraction has got something for everyone from golf, soccer and baseball to trampolines, skateboard ramps and a flying fox. With its grand reopening on 9th April 2021, there are also new facilities to check out at SuperPark, like Archery and the expanded Kids Gym.
Address: #02-477, Suntec City (North Wing, 3 Temasek Blvd, Tower 1, Singapore 038983)

2. Sembawang Hot Spring Park (with new cascading pools and garden)
Singapore’s only natural hot spring used to be a japalang collection of taps and buckets. With its reopening earlier in January, Sembawang Hot Spring Park has now been upgraded to a fully-fledged attraction that’s 10 times its original size. You can now find hot spring pools here, as well as a scenic floral walk and a café. There’s even a special egg cooking station, where you can make your very own onsen eggs by cooking them in the hot spring water.

3. Singapore Discovery Centre (Laser Tag, Escape Rooms and Paintball)
After six months of renovation, the Singapore Discovery Centre reopened its doors late last year with some serious upgrades to rediscover. It now houses the Black Lake Facility – Singapore’s largest multi-storey escape room attraction with 13 rooms.
There’s also a laser tag arena here, and it’s the first one in Singapore to use the advanced HELIOS2 system, which is more accurate and reliable than older laser systems. If you’re looking for some outdoors action, there is a multi-tiered paintball arena here, as well as pedal boats available for a scenic ride on the Discovery Lake.

4. Golden Mile Food Centre (and other hawker centres)
Good news for food lovers! Not one, not two, but three popular hawker centres have reopened recently. You’re now welcome to feast on hawker classics like satay, grilled chicken wings and sambal stingray at the East Coast Lagoon Food Centre, or enjoy hipster burgers and chocolate lava baguettes at the Golden Mile Food Centre. The Zion Food Centre is the latest of the three to reopen, and here you can find the Michelin-recommended Boon Tong Kee Kway Chap Braised Duck.

5. Teo Heng
While restrictions on karaoke have not yet been lifted, Teo Heng has taken a new approach to business. It reopened in March as a place where customers can rent rooms to “work, dine, or chill”. The usual tables in the rooms have been replaced with larger foldable work tables, and you can now order meals that are served in the rooms.
Despite the changes, Teo Heng has retained its notoriously cheap prices. The rooms start at just $4 per hour, the meals start from $3.60 and its canned drinks are still priced at just $1 each.
